The Gamsstadt, as Kitzbühel is often called, enchants all year round with romantic old town alleys, down-to-earth and high-class restaurants as well as a modern pedestrian zone with numerous boutiques, cafés, bars, cinemas and a casino. In short: hardly any city combines traditional idyll and sparkling lifestyle as charmingly as Kitzbühel. Winter sports in particular have a long tradition in the Gamsstadt, the Kitzbühel ski area is consistently voted one of the best in the world.
The world's highest aerial cableway connects skiing and hiking hotspots
In addition to the exciting city life, there is also a lot to discover in the surrounding mountains and the neighboring towns of Reith bei Kitzbühel, Aurach and Jochberg. In summer, mountain bikers and hikers come to the region. Reith also scores with the popular Bichlach recreation area, a golf course and the Gieringer Weiher, a warm, natural moor lake. Interesting excursion destinations include the Aurach wildlife park and the copper plate show mine in Jochberg. Via ferratas with different levels of difficulty also offer challenges for all levels. The 3S orbit, which connects Hahnenkamm and Jochberg, is in continuous operation and is known as the aerial cable car with the world's highest ground clearance: it hovers 400 meters above the earth. In winter Reith, Aurach and Jochberg shine with a large network of trails and wonderful winter hiking trails.
